Disneyland Fried Chicken & Mickey Beignets

April 7, 2014

Disneyland Fried Chicken & Mickey Beignets : raisedbyculture.comThe good news is we’re Disneyland Annual Passholders again!  The bad news is it’s Spring Break season and the weather here is hot already.  Crowds and heat make me cranky but I’m all about those spontaneous moments we can sneak away for a few hours when the weather is just right and the crowds die down!

If your husband says let’s go to Disneyland, you jump up and get ready to go!  That happened a few weeks ago and our day was perfection.  We started at The Disney Gallery, walked down Main Street, said hi to Esmeralda and headed to Plaza Inn for lunch.  Plaza Inn is known for their character breakfast and fried chicken, dining there would be a first for all of us! If you thought it looked cute from the outside with it’s pink and white decor, the inside is elegant and Victorian.  Swoon!  $14.99 for 3 pieces of fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and a biscuit sounds a bit pricey for my cheap self but we ordered two and it fed all four of us real good!

We wandered Frontierland, Fantasyland, Mickey’s Toontown and back to New Orleans Square for Mickey shaped beignets!  Duke, our picky kid loved the beignet.  It was comedy watching him devour it.  Mint Julep Bar offers 3 or 6 beignets, I can’t remember the price but it’s worth it so spend the money! I love having annual passes again, no guilt for popping in for a few hours!  Plan on making these short trips habit cause sometimes you just gotta go to Disneyland for fried chicken & beignets!

Great post! Plaza inn is one of my favorites and usually go to place to eat because 1. The inside decor is just too beautiful. 2. You can see the fireworks from the outside dining patio (no crowds hehe) 3. You get some gooood food for a really good price!
